How to Get to Copenhagen City Hall

Copenhagen is the capital city in Denmark and is commonly known as the 'hub' of northern Europe

For those who are travelling from afar then it is an easy place to get to by air - the airport code you need is CPH.

For those that are travelling from within Europe, planes, trains or automobiles.

Kastrup airport is the other name for Copenhagen or CPH. Copenhagen Train Station is in the centre of Copenhagen, and you get there directly from the airport at the station situated between terminals 2 and 3, or it may be that you will arrive straight in Copenhagen Central station if you are getting the train from another country

Getting Married in Denmark

Getting around Copenhagen is simple with its wonderful and easy to use metro system.  You can jump on the metro directly from the airport taking you to the centre of Copenhagen.  If you are getting married in Copenhagen you can be at Copenhagen City Hall from the Airport in around 20 minutes.

Ask your wedding planner in Copenhagen or for more information, see our video blog. The entire system runs 24 hours a day 7 seven days a week and it is split into three zones, for information on pricing please see the following website https://intl.m.dk/

Alternatively you can get a taxi from Copenhagen airport, it is about €30, and there are always plenty of Taxis right outside the arrival door, with a nice orderly queue and English speaking staff to help and put you in a taxi. If you would prefer to use Taxis whilst you are in Copenhagen set yourself up on the TAXA app, which is the Danish equivalent to Uber.

And some to note is everyone is on bikes - Copenhagen is one of the Greenest Cities in the world, and leading in emissions reduction, the air is literally cleaner in the City than most other places! But this does mean you need to get used to paying attention to bikes, as they have right of way, and there are roads, cycle paths and also pavements - it can be quite alarming before you get used to it as they are quite silent!

Denmark Elopement

Copenhagen City Hall is in the main 'square' of Copenhagen standing next to the amazingly fun 'Tivoli Gardens' which also has quite an incredible food court which you do not need to enter Tivoli to use (and we do, frequently!!)

To get to City hall from the airport it takes 25 minutes on the metro system, please see the link here and you are aiming for Radhudspladsen as the stop.

To get to Copenhagen City Hall from the main central train station, it is a nice easy 10 minute walk as you can see here, or a 6 minute ride on the metro system  or a short walk as you can see here - so plenty of easy options.

The metro station that you need to get to is Radhusplasden (City Hall Square).
